My work is about the representation of an idea - whether through the reinterpretation of existing objects (revalue), or through the power of minimal, pure form.

Revalue: to change the value of something or to consider it again:
This work focuses on the subjective nature of the value of cultural objects by the reinterpretation of their form in contrasting materials and scale.
This work is grouped into themed collections:
Objects and their packaging from a throw-away society.
It's not just a... Objects whose aesthetic has transcended function.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be... Objects from a different, priceless, time, made precious.
We don't make anything anymore, only art... Objects from before a post-industrialised society.
Make art not war... Objects of conflict.

Pure form:
This work is inspired by the idea of capturing a passing thought or concept and realising it through the power of minimal form and the permanence of stone or metal.
It is motivated by the desire to represent fundamental themes and the apparent dichotomies in the world around us, such as permanence and transition, balance and imbalance, the material and the immaterial, what is and what should be.
The creation of each sculpture begins with the visualisation of an idea. Form, proportion and detail are distilled to the point where the essence of the form is revealed. The sculptures are conceived with the intention of being produced on a monumental scale and as such can be commissioned in any size and media.
